Kate Hudson, Naomi Watts, Melvil Poupaud, Glenn Close
Isabel goes to Paris to visit her sister, Roxeanne, who is pregnant. On arrival she finds that Roxeanne’s husband has left her and is filing for divorce. Part of the divorce settlement is focussed around a valuable painting that Isabel and Roxeanne’s family own. Whilst in Paris, Isabel finds herself a lover, but then also becomes the mistress of a French politician.
This movie originally escaped my notice, until I came across it recently when looking for old rom coms. I thought I was on to a winner with both Hudson and Watts together – but alas, it was not to be. It wasn’t funny, and I found Hudson and Watts to be annoyingly blonde, and trying overly hard to be Parisians.
