He’s Such a Girl
Whitney and Taylor are a young couple fresh out of college, on the verge of starting new careers and potentially setting up house together. But Taylor has a lot of secrets, one involving a woman from school and their roommate Aldo. As Taylor struggles with her identity and her very conservative religious parents, Whitney has his own problems – trying to track down his perpetually travelling mother.
This is not a funny film at all. It’s too slow and quite painful to watch. There were some quite dark features to the story involving Taylor and her parents, but they didn’t seem to gel with the rest of the film.
The title of the film refers to the sensitive nature of Whitney, but the lightness involved with his slightly feminine character was overshadowed by the dark nature of Taylor’s relationship with Aldo.
Didn’t enjoy this at all, and although Taylor pursues a lesbian relationship, I couldn’t feel happy for her because her actions throughout made no sense. Leave it on the shelf!
