A Case of You
Justin Long plays Sam, a young writer stuck in a rut. He lacks the confidence to ask out Birdie, who he meets at his local coffee shop. So he haunts her Facebook page for her likes and dislikes. He then tries to turn himself into her perfect man, giving him the courage to start a relationship.
What will happen when Birdie learns the truth about Sam – will she like him, or the guy he is pretending to be? Didn’t our parents always tell us to just be ourselves?
We’ve seen Justin Long before in rom coms – great ones like He’s Just Not That Into You and average ones like Going the Distance. I’ve not seen Evan Rachel Wood around in rom coms before this, but she fits in very well.
This is quite a pleasant rom com, with nothing overly amusing, shocking or exciting. However, it’s not bland – it has a good pace, solid acting, some funny supporting roles, likeable characters, and a sound script. Some may even say that the script is a ‘classic’.
Aw, it’s just nice.
